Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program: New Draw Invites 126 Candidates

Manitoba has conducted a new draw under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), issuing 126 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to prospective immigrants on July 4, 2024. These invitations were distributed across different immigration streams as follows:

International Education Stream (IES)

The International Education Stream (IES) is a pathway under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) that prioritizes international graduates of post-secondary institutions in Manitoba. A total of 85 LAAs were issued to graduates from Manitoba’s educational institutions, allowing these individuals to work and settle in the province.

Skilled Workers Overseas (Strategic Recruitment Initiative)

In the Skilled Workers Overseas category, 41 LAAs were granted to candidates participating in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. These candidates needed a minimum score of 709 points to qualify.

Express Entry Candidates

Additionally, 19 candidates with valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes received invitations that increased their eligibility for the program.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM)

If you’re currently employed in Manitoba or have a job offer from a Manitoba employer, the SWM might be your ideal pathway to Canadian permanent residence. This stream offers two options:

  • Manitoba Work Experience Pathway: Available to those already working in Manitoba on temporary permits or as international graduates, regardless of whether their occupation is in demand.
  • Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway: Designed for individuals with job offers from approved Manitoba employers while residing overseas.

Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO)

The SWO stream caters to skilled workers abroad and offers two routes:

  • Manitoba Express Entry Pathway: For those eligible under another MPNP stream and meeting Express Entry criteria, with skills in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations and close family ties to the province.
  • Human Capital Pathway: Targets skilled workers abroad with experience in In-Demand Occupations, focusing on their potential to secure employment in Manitoba upon arrival.

International Education Stream (IES)

This stream is dedicated to graduates from Manitoba’s educational institutions and offers three pathways:

  • Career Employment Pathway: Requires completion of a qualifying program from a Manitoba institution and a job offer in an In-Demand Occupation, with residency in Manitoba.
  • Graduate Internship Pathway: Available to Masters and Doctoral graduates who have completed internships through Mitacs Accelerate or Elevate, even without a job offer.
  • Student Entrepreneur Pathway: For graduates who have completed a program in Manitoba, operated a business in the province for six months post-graduation, and reside in Manitoba, with no specific net worth requirement.

By following these guidelines and understanding the pathways available, prospective immigrants can better navigate the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program and increase their chances of securing permanent residence in Canada.
